• Rockhampton: Rendel Laboratory and Belmont Research Station (Qld) CSIRO research into livestock production in northern Australia is largely carried out at the JM Rendel Laboratory and Belmont Research Station in Rockhampton. By December 2009, research currently conducted at the Rendel Laboratory will be transferred to Townsville and Brisbane, but the Belmont Research Station will continue to operate.

• Dr Sigrid Lehnert: genomics research for ruminant reproduction Dr Sigrid Lehnert uses genomics and proteomics approaches to discover the molecular mechanisms governing ruminant reproductive performance. She is also developing biotechnology-based approaches to sex ratio manipulation in livestock.

• Dr Sandra Eady: livestock geneticist and assessing agriculture life cycle Dr Sandra Eady is a geneticist with expertise in developing national breeding programs and implementing them on-farm. Her current activities expand this expertise to the area of life cycle assessment for agriculture.
